Columbia Court office building in downtown San Diego to be converted

Columbia Court, a four-story, 28,233-square-foot corner office building at 444 W. C and 1121 Columbia streets in downtown San Diego 92101, has been sold for $6.3 million.

The new ownership, Pacifica Companies, 1785 Hancock St., Suite 100, San Diego 92110, is planning to convert the building to office condominiums. Ashok Israni is head of Pacifica, a company that in recent years that has converted a substantial number of San Diego County apartments to condominiums.

The sellers of the property (assessor's parcel 533-482-04) were the Busby Family Trust and the Shoemaker Family Trust.

Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial brokers Steve Rowland and Michael Roberts handled the transaction.

The fully leased building was constructed in 1984-85. One reported lease in early 2003 involved Timothy L. Brictson and Stefan Cohn, dba Law Offices of Brictson and Cohn, leasing 1,726 square feet for two years at $65,657.
