Sales to begin on two new D.R. Horton neighborhoods

San Elijo Hills, the award-winning master-planned community that offers stunning ocean views, a wide variety of homes, and an inviting small town ambiance, welcomes two new neighborhoods by D.R. Horton.

San Elijo Hills is an award-winning master-planned community in San Marcos featuring a variety of neighborhoods nestled around a walkable towncenter.

Last weekend marked the opening of the temporary sales office for Sonoma, a neighborhood of 131 single-family homes ranging from 1,354 to 2,002 square feet. The two- and three-bedroom residences at Sonoma offer exceptional volume and openness achieved through creative architecture and split level design. Some homesites offer yards and feature ocean views. The first phase of homes, priced from the high $500,000s, is scheduled for release in March.

Sales are expected to start soon at Palisades, an exclusive enclave of 42 homes on private cul-de-sacs on one of the highest points in San Elijo Hills. These spacious homes will feature unique Old World architecture with generous living rooms, dining rooms, family rooms and state-of-the-art kitchens. Luxurious appointments will be evident throughout these substantial two-story homes occupying up to 4,237 square feet. The unique location of Palisades provides an intimate neighborhood setting with added privacy and breath-taking panoramas. Prices have not yet been determined.

Richmond American Homes is also scheduled to introduce Atherton and Luminara, two neighborhoods featuring single-family homes. Prices have not been set.

In addition to these new neighborhoods, San Elijo Hills currently offers nine floorplans in three neighborhoods, priced from the low $700,000s to more than a million dollars.

Pulte Homes offers two single-family neighborhoods. Meridian homes, priced from the $800,000s, feature three plans ranging from 3,290 to 3,607 square feet with four to five bedrooms. Mariners Landing features three floor plans priced from the low $700,000s and ranging from 2,617 to 2,999 square feet.

John Laing Homes' Woodley's Glen, which is nearing close out, features two-story homes ranging from 2,332 to 2,800-square feet. These homes are priced from the low $700,000s.

The homes of San Elijo Hills are nestled around an award-winning town center, which currently features the 19-acre San Elijo Hills Park, and a 30-acre educational campus. The final component of the town center, set to begin construction soon, is a 120,000-square-foot mixed-use complex with a grocery store, a variety of retailers, restaurants and 40 residences.

San Elijo Hills Park includes a community center, a lighted soccer field, two lighted baseball diamonds, jogging paths, picnic areas and tot lot, children's water playground, acres of rolling lawn, a barbecue area, plaza overlooking the town square and a fenced area for exercising the family pet.

The middle school, which sits prominently near the town square, is open and functioning as a K-8 school. The adjoining elementary school is under construction and scheduled to open this year.

The design of the towncenter was honored with a Gold Nugget Grand Award in the "Community/Town Plan" category at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and the whole community was named "Master-Planned Community of the Year" at The Nationals, an annual competition sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders.

The topography of San Elijo Hills contributes to the community's allure. Neighborhoods and homesites have been sculpted into the hilly terrain in a way that has provided ocean views to many homes. In fact, 26 of the 28 single-family-home neighborhoods feature ocean views.

Taking advantage of this view-oriented terrain, the community features 18 miles of trails woven through 1,100 acres of open space with panoramic ocean and backcountry views.

With all the amenities of a proverbial small town, beautiful homes in many price ranges, and breath-taking ocean-views, it's no wonder that San Elijo Hills is one of the most coveted communities in San Diego County.
