RSI leads the way in Title 24 roofing

RSI Roofing has been a leader in the implementation of the new Title 24 requirements, which took effect Oct. 1.

Working with both the State Department of Energy and the San Diego Roofing Contractors Association ( SDRCA), RSI has helped to develop seminars for roofing contractors as well as building owners, to help get this issue implemented and clarified.

David Susi, the president of RSI is the current treasurer for the SDRCA and chairs several committees, including public relations.

"Getting this information to the end user was paramount for us." said Susi. "The State Energy Department, while well intentioned in trying to reduce energy consumption throughout the state, really bit off more than could chew by trying to get this up and running by the first of October. The SDRCA, along with our industry partners, have sponsored five Title 24 seminars and dinner meetings in order to get the most accurate and timely information to our members.

We at RSI Roofing have and still do seminars for the real estate community, property managers, and individual building owners. It is a two-pronged approach, SDRCA for the roofing contractors, and RSI Roofing informs the property managers and owners."

Also, RSI is announcing the hiring of its first ever operations manager.

David Palmer comes to RSI with 16 years experience in operations and cost analysis, which will result in more efficiency to help offset rising marketplace costs in materials and labor. RSI is committed to limit and control spiraling costs to our customers, Susi said.

Since moving into a new 27,000-square-foot facility two years ago, RSI has had the opportunity to add staff, equipment and vehicles, and strengthen their infrastructure.

With a fleet of 26 vehicles, 70 employees and a seasoned management staff, RSI is leading the way in all areas of commercial roofing.

Our first 10 years laid a strong foundation with our customers and our employees. Now we are ready to build upon that foundation.

Our people are the key. You can have all the equipment, trucks, computer programs and all the other infrastructure things in place but it takes the right people with the right attitude and knowledge to bring the best product to market.

We are a closely-knit fabric of co-workers at RSI, which includes four groups of brothers. Three of our five top managers - all of whom are life-long roofing industry people -- have been on board for more than 10 years.

RSI's portfolio of clients is like a family too, Susi said. Many clients have been with RSI for 13 years and some were Susi's clients prior to starting RSI in 1993.

RSI is active in Better Business Bureau, San Diego Roofing Contractors Association, Roofing Contractors Association of California, National Roofing Contractors Association, Building Owners & Managers Association, Community Associations Institute, The Construction Specifiers Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, Institute of Real Estate Management, International Facility Management Association, San Diego Multi Housing Corporation, and the Western Regional Master Builders Association.
