Related Special Reports

After celebrating their second anniversary on Aug. 2, one can truly say that Point Loma Community Bank has brought community banking back to Point Loma.

The bank is managed and staffed by a talented team of local and experienced bankers that are known throughout the community. Their business decisions are made locally at the bank and they are committed to supporting the people and organizations that make Point Loma a special place to live and work.

Bank president Tony Calabrese is a local Point Loma resident with 27 years of banking experience, spending 19 of those years at San Diego Trust & Savings Bank and five years at Peninsula Bank in Point Loma.

Illustrating the bank's commitment to the community, Point Loma Community Bank has continuously supported many Point Loma events including the Point Loma Summer Concert Series each summer, Point Loma Cultural Fair, Day at the Docks, Point Loma Little League and the Portuguese Festival and Crab Feast. In its partnership with Point Loma High School, the bank has provided on-the-job training for several high school seniors who worked at the bank as interns.

The bank's staff is also heavily involved with the community, volunteering for numerous organizations such as the Point Loma Association, the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the Point Loma Rotary Club, Coastal Tritons Pop Warner Football Team, STARZ Lacrosse League, Saint Augustine High School, High Tech High, Peninsula YMCA and Combined Health Agencies.

Point Loma Community Bank is very proud of what it has accomplished since its inception. The bank has experienced a tremendous amount of opportunity and growth in the past two years thanks to the support of its customers, the business community, and its friends and neighbors throughout Point Loma. In the years to come, Point Loma Community Bank will continue to provide a working environment and customer service that is quite simply "the best" in community banking.
