It's A Grind to open in DiamondView Tower

Related Special Reports

It's A Grind -- the fastest growing coffee franchise in the United States -- has signed a 10-year lease for 1,420 square feet of ground-floor retail space at DiamondView Tower in downtown San Diego. Additional tenants are expected to sign leases and be announced in the coming weeks.

It's A Grind joins Cox Communications, Comerica Bank and CB Richard Ellis as a tenant in DiamondView Tower, which will open in early 2007.

"It's A Grind is a tremendous addition to our building," states Jason Wood, director of development for Cisterra Partners, the developer of the building. "The company's vision of creating high-quality neighborhood coffeehouses matches our vision of DiamondView Tower as San Diego's most unique building and prestigious address." The coffeehouse is scheduled to open in DiamondView Tower on March 1, 2007.

Corinna Gattasso of Burnham Real Estate represented both DiamondView Tower and It's A Grind in the transaction.

According to Gattasso, "In addition to the It's A Grind space, DiamondView Tower has two excellent restaurant spaces that offer impressive ceiling heights, outdoor dining in a large patio area facing the Park at the Park and valet parking is available, making an ideal scenario for a high-end restaurant. This is one of the very few options in downtown today that can accommodate a large restaurant."

Located just outside of the right-field fence of Petco Park, DiamondView Tower is the first Class A office tower to be built next to a major league baseball facility. The 15-story office building offers skybox like-views of the San Diego Padres' playing field, as well as the downtown San Diego skyline, Coronado Island, the Pacific Ocean, Balboa Park, Tijuana and much more. DiamondView Tower's many amenities include a fitness club complete with a swimming pool, retail shops and restaurants, balconies on every floor and a top floor "Ultimate Skybox" with a bar, balcony, A/V capabilities, fire pits and anything else a tenant may need for a conference/training session or company social event. The building has the most parking in downtown San Diego, and is directly next to the Park at the Park, which is a great place for a midday jog, a picnic lunch or a great cup of coffee.
