Stephen J. Holland

Steve Holland has established a career with CB Richard Ellis that has included early work in the company's industrial/office properties group, followed by a team leader position in the Global Corporate Services group specializing in consulting and representing growth-oriented companies. Holland has developed a strong ability to understand the operational, occupancy and management objectives of his clients and translate them into real estate solutions that add value to the bottom line, enhance their competitive advantage and provide superior work environments. He has negotiated more than 450 sale and lease transactions totaling approximately 7.5 million square feet with an aggregate value in excess of $290 million.

Steve Holland

Holland has a strong background in developing and implementing innovative and cost-effective real estate strategies for growth-oriented companies. He has diverse experience in office, lab and R&D property transactions to accommodate both manufacturing and corporate headquarters facility requirements, and a proven ability to structure and negotiate complex lease/build/buy transactions. He provides services throughout the real estate activity cycle of strategic real estate planning, transaction management, facilities management and portfolio management/lease administration.

Holland was previously with Oracle Corp. as territory area manager of the Business Alliance Programme, managing 50 top-tier systems integrators and application providers in the Southeast United States region. Before that he was director of corporate accounts with Langdon Rieger Corp., where he provided tenant representation services including: real estate strategy development, market intelligence and analysis, lease negotiations/restructures, space/property acquisition and disposition, proactive portfolio planning, structured finance and construction management.

Clients represented include Cardinal Health, LPL Financial Services, Iomega Corp., Sequenom, FERRO Corp., Johnson & Johnson, Widcomm, Idanta Partners, Oracle Corp., All American Semiconductor, GMAC Finance, Disguise Inc., Anacomp, SkyePharma, Salmedix, Becton Dickinson, Multiple Peptide Systems and Novasite Pharmaceuticals.

Holland holds membership with AeA, Biocom, The Chairmen's Roundtable, San Diego Software Industry Council, San Diego Telecom Council, San Diego Venture Group, UCSD Alumni Association and UCSD Connect (MIP Selection Committee Member).

He received his master's in executive leadership from the University of San Diego, and his bachelor's in political science from the University of California, San Diego.

The No. 1 sales professional in the office on multiple occasions, Sparks qualified for the Colbert Coldwell Circle award in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002. His transactions of over 21 million square feet and 2,300 acres have amassed a consideration exceeding $4 billion.

Significant assignments include Eastgate Technology Park, 100 acres; Scripps Ranch Business Park, 260 acres; Wateridge, 125 acres; Pomerado Business Park, 290 acres; Torrey Hills, 50 acres; TRW Land, 20 acres; Jack in the Box, 10 acres; Overland Storage, 158,000 square feet/BTS; and Vical, 68,000 square feet/lease.

He received his master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles and his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Southern California. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California.

Rob Merkin was awarded the inaugural William H. McCarthy Memorial Award for San Diego County, CB Richard Ellis' highest award, which is presented to the salesperson judged by his peers to represent excellence in client services, professionalism and integrity. Merkin is a repeat recipient of this honor and also has been further recognized as a finalist for the national award.

Rob Merkin

Merkin has consistently been a top producer in his specialty within CB Richard Ellis. With experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, Merkin specializes in sales and leasing of industrial, office, corporate headquarters/R&D and biomedical properties. He has completed 765 transactions, with consideration in excess of $1.3 billion representing more than 13.4 million square feet of space and 438 acres of land.

Significant assignments include Lennar/San Diego Spectrum (100 acres/BTS), Kilroy/Sorrento Mesa (±500,000 square feet/BTS and land product), Kilroy/Del Mar Heights (629,000 square feet), RREEF/Kearny Mesa (200,000 square feet), Arden/Kearny Mesa (202,000 square feet), AMB/Miramar (252,000 square feet), Invesco/Miramar & Sorrento Mesa (500,000 square feet), RREEF (98,000 square feet), AEW/Miramar (140,000 square feet) and MetLife/Sorrento Mesa (180,000 square feet).

Doug Lozier

With nearly a decade of real estate experience, Doug Lozier has emerged as a leader in his field. Lozier focuses his efforts on countywide tenant demand analysis and tracking, exclusive client representation in acquisition and disposition, restructuring of corporate clients' existing lease agreements and the acquisition and disposition of facilities. A member of a dynamic five-person team in the San Diego Central office, Lozier has created a solid and growing client base.

Lozier's areas of specialty include corporate representation; corporate acquisition/disposition; tenant representation for biotechnology, technology/R&D and scientific research companies; and leasing and sale of corporate headquarters, biotech/laboratory, industrial, R&D buildings and industrial and commercial land sales.
