Satterlee leads St. Croix Capital in aggressive growth

With the guiding principles of honesty, integrity and commitment, Kenneth R. Satterlee has been an influential part of the real estate community for almost 30 years.

Satterlee started his career in the real estate business in 1977 with Coldwell Banker commercial brokerage (now CBRE). He then moved on to Burnham Real Estate in 1980, where he became a significant owner of the company and well respected throughout the real estate community. After 25 years with the company he sold his interest and is now a full-time commercial developer.

Raising four children with his wife, Candace, he still finds time to enjoy the finer things in life. Some of his hobbies include playing and coaching roller hockey, baseball, music, travel and gardening. Since 1973, Satterlee has preformed with his band, ETC..., as lead vocalist and drummer. With all the extracurricular activity, it's amazing he finds time to generate such expansive business ventures.

By 2007, St. Croix Capital Corp. will have broken ground on nearly 400,000 square feet of product in the Bressi Ranch Corporate Center. In 2004, when presented with the opportunity to buy property in this landmark subdivision, the conventional thought was to start small and work up from there. In looking at the overall North County and Carlsbad markets specifically, along with a dwindling supply of improved zoned land, St. Croix and its decision-makers decided to move aggressively. This resulted in the acquisition of over 65 acres in the 128-acre business park. "Several product types were needed in the immediate market," said Satterlee. "A continuation of the model of small buildings for sale, both office and flex R&D, made sense as we analyzed the opportunities." As a result, St. Croix will deliver the 14-building Bressi Spectrum during the first quarter of 2007. It will also deliver a nine-building flex/R&D project called SpectrumFlex in late 2007, and is currently under construction on a 100,000-square-foot, two-building corporate campus for Arrowhead General Insurance. Ultimately, St. Croix promises to put its mark on the Bressi Ranch Corporate Center. Often referred to as "the corner of Main and Main" in Carlsbad, the master-planned community of residential, retail and corporate product is sure to be the center of attention for years to come.

St. Croix also made its way into Austin, Texas, in 2006. Making its presence known, St. Croix plans to develop retail, office and industrial projects on approximately 400 acres purchased throughout the Austin area. The first project, Austin Commons, will break ground in the first quarter of 2007, with many exciting projects to follow.

Under Satterlee's direction, St. Croix Capital Corp. has grown significantly and will continue to be a powerhouse in the real estate community.
