Eight local businesses received the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Small Business Award. Presented annually, the awards honor local small and micro businesses for their significant contributions as drivers of economic growth throughout the region.
“Small businesses make up over 90 percent of our city’s businesses. These awards are an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and excellence of San Diego’s local small businesses and the contribution they make to our regional economy,” said Chamber CEO Jerry Sanders.
For nearly 20 years, the Chamber has recognized small and micro businesses that are leaders in the San Diego regional business community. This year, nearly 70 companies submitted entries with a total of 27 finalists chosen.
The winners in each category were named at the Small Business Awards Mixer June 17 at the Omni Hotel downtown. Sponsored by ESET, the annual event also serves as an opportunity for small and large businesses to come together to learn how the regional business community can better work together.
