Johnson & Jennings General Contracting has completed tenant improvement construction for the expansion of the 15,000-square-foot corporate headquarters of Kelly Capital in downtown San Diego.
Kelly Capital, a private investment firm, recently relocated to the 18th floor of downtown's NBC building.
The Irvine Group, the building's owner and manager, provided oversight for the $1.5 million project, while Graham Downes Architecture, a San Diego-based firm, designed the space.
The scope of work for Johnson & Jennings entailed complete demolition of the existing space and its subsequent conversion into high-end offices.
The project included the installation of a new HVAC system; custom lighting; level five drywall; and new partitions, ceilings and flooring.
The architectural design features ceramic tile, fabric wrapped panels, a custom reception desk, built-in kitchen appliances, back painted glass and wedge wood paneling throughout.
In addition, the executive offices were enhanced with custom woodwork and custom wood doors.
Carrie Chambers and Greg Dziewit were project managers for Johnson & Jennings, with Kevin Alexen as onsite superintendent.
Subcontractors were Casper Company, Martin Corporation, Bergelectric, ACCO, Resource Floors, Quality Paint, Caldwell Glass, Schmidt Fire Protection, B&B Acoustics, Ridged Fine Woodworking and Arroyo Pacific Craftsmen.
