The $3.8 billion San Diego County Credit Union welcomed Irene Oberbauer as its president and CEO on Aug. 1. Oberbauer most recently served as the credit union's chief operating officer and has worked for SDCCU in a number of other capacities since 1995.
"It is an honor to be selected as the President & Chief Executive Officer here at SDCCU," Oberbauer said on her appointment. "I'm looking forward to many years of growing together with the employees and members of this outstanding financial institution."
SDCCU's mission is to provide sound financial services to our members anywhere, any way, anytime, and is the driving force behind the credit union's success. SDCCU celebrated the opening of two new branches in 2007 -- one in North Temecula and one in La Mesa -- bringing the total to 25 convenient locations in San Diego and Riverside counties.
Complemented by low loan rates and competitive dividends, customers have 24-hour access to account information online, through a toll-free telephone number and at more than 25,000 fee-free CO-OP ATMs nationwide. Most of San Diego County Credit Union's 25 branch offices are open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the convenience of its customers.
SDCCU constantly looks for new opportunities to help out the community. SDCCU has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego County and also is the Title Sponsor of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, which will be held Dec. 20. For every ticket sold to the Poinsettia Bowl, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will receive $1.
In addition to these partnerships, the Community Relations program maintains relationships with many other organizations. SDCCU is the Title Sponsor of the Multiple Sclerosis Walk, Presenting Sponsor of the Holiday Bowl Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade and Title Sponsor of the Chargers Blood Drive, among many more.
"In order to meet and exceed the varied needs of our customers, we have expanded our membership to include everyone who lives or works in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties," Oberbauer said. "We strive to bring our customers the finest in financial products and service excellence."
