Jim Dowling started as a cabinetmaker and moved into commercial tenant improvements as a supervisor. He also gained valuable experience as a property manager, overseeing tenant improvement construction and maintenance projects.
He formed Dowling Construction Inc. in 1998 with three employees (including himself). The company now has more than 30 employees and is still growing. In addition to specializing in tenant improvements, Dowling Construction has an in-house framing and drywall division and an in-house demolition division.
When asked about his business plan for the future, Dowling says things will, for the most part, remain unchanged: "I plan to maintain my current philosophy to be honest, treat people the way I want to be treated and provide customers with quality workmanship and great personal service."
