VA loans popular choice for buyers at four new neighborhoods in Chula Vista

The availability of Veterans Administration loans through Shea Homes has been a positive influence for new-home buyers, especially at four of the San Diego builder's Chula Vista neighborhoods, where 14 of 22 sales as of Feb. 29 were financed with VA loans.

"The popularity of VA loans has contributed to an encouraging year for Shea Homes so far," said Vanessa Linn, director of sales. "Shea Mortgage has been especially effective in helping the first-time buyer with this program."

Mosaic at Lomas Verdes, a motor-court condominium community by Shea Homes, had recorded six sales as of Feb. 29, all of which were financed with VA loans, according to the builder. Half of the 10 homes sold as of Feb. 29 at Clover at Windingwalk had been purchased through the VA program as well. The condominium community is currently priced from the mid-$300,000s. At Tapestry at Lomas Verdes by Shea Homes, VA loans were utilized for two of the three homes sold as of Feb. 29. With prices from the low $400,000s, the detached homes at Tapestry have approximately 1,822 to 2,253 square feet, up to four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The row home condominium neighborhood at Agave at Windingwalk logged three sales as of Feb. 29, one being a VA loan. Priced from the low $300,000s, the two- and three-bedroom homes at Agave span approximately 1,464 to 1,581 square feet.
