San Diego's Corporate Directors Forum, the largest regional association of directors and officers in the United States, is hosting the fifth annual "Directors Forum: Directors Management and Shareholders in Dialogue" conference from Jan. 24-26 at the University of San Diego. This event uniquely brings together institutional investors, companies and regulatory agencies providing an ideal forum for open dialogue.
The conference also welcomes the nation's leading corporate governance authorities and keynote speakers of global renown to San Diego to address the many current and emerging issues facing directors and shareholders today.
Including the keynote speakers, you will have access to nearly 40 of today's leading corporate governance thought leaders and policy makers. Attendance is limited to allow you to interact and be part of the dialogue.
Keynote speakers at the conference:
* Leo E. Strine Jr., vice chancellor, Delaware Court of Chancery
* Mary L. Schapiro (invited), chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission
* John J. Castellani, president, Business Roundtable
* William A. Ackman, founder and managing partner, Pershing Square Capital Management LP
Directors Forum 2010 is designed for participants to network with other leading directors and officers from around the country and to discuss issues that matter most to management and shareholders, in a unique off-the-record setting. Just a few topics of discussion include:
Shareholder Rights AND Responsibilities
The Fast Changing Regulatory Landscape: Judicial, Congressional and Executive Developments
Risk Management: Monitoring for Known & Unknown Risks
Insider's View of Surviving a Proxy Contest
The list of companies and firms represented at the conference reads like a who's who from the front pages of business sections across the nation: Mars Inc., Prudential, Caterpillar, DuPont, Target Corp., Barnes & Noble, WD-40 Co., Watchell Lipton, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Sullivan & Cromwell, Kellogg and others.
Institutional investor representatives from CalPERS, CalSTRS, AFL-CIO and AFSCME and other major U.S. shareholders will be in attendance. Representatives from the Delaware Court of Chancery and top proxy ratings organizations will also speak.
