Brown Law Group, a San Diego business litigation law firm, announced Wednesday that Adriana Cara has joined the firm.
Her practice focuses on labor and employment law as well as advising management on federal and state employment law compliance. She also defends employers against claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour disputes.
In addition, Cara specializes in the preparation of employee handbooks and employment-related contracts, including arbitration, severance and compensation agreements. Her clients include public employers, nonprofit corporations and those in private sector industries.
“It is certainly an honor and a privilege to work alongside attorneys with a proven reputation for excellence, integrity, and community involvement,” she said. “I am proud to be included among their ranks.”
Prior to joining Brown Law Group, Cara practiced at Fine, Boggs & Perkins LLP; Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch; and Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo.
“Adriana’s experience in labor and employment law provides us with an excellent and proven resource to better serve our wide range of clients,” said Janice Brown, founder and CEO of Brown Law Group. “Adriana is extremely well organized, experienced and a delight. We are grateful for her.”
Cara has written several “client alerts” regarding recent developments in labor and employment law. She also has coauthored an article titled, “Entering the Labyrinth of Pregnancy Leave Laws,” appearing in the December 2004 issue of the California Labor & Employment Law Review, the official publication of the State Bar of California labor and employment law section.
She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.
