Riverside County Manufacturers and Exporters Association May meeting

Related Special Reports

The Riverside County Manufacturers and Exporters Association South West Cluster meeting will be held Tuesday, May 7, at the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce office beginning at 7 a.m.

This month's topic is "ISO Standards and how they can enhance your business performance." ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 have been in existence for some time as a customer requirement. Since 2010 they have been growing in popularity and currently there is no sign this trend will subside. The customer quality and environmental concerns are the driving force for this growth.

The ISO 9000 standards address quality management, i.e., what the organization does to fulfill the customer’s quality requirements as well as applicable regulatory requirements. The focal point is to enhance customer satisfaction and achieve continual improvement of its performance.

The ISO 14000 standards address environmental management, i.e., what the organization does to minimize harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities and achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.

Since both these families of standards apply to the manufacturers within our cluster and to their related products, this topic was requested at our January meeting.

The Murrieta Chamber of Commerce office is located at 25125 Madison Ave., Suite 108, Murrieta, CA 92562.
