Ernst & Young LLP announced the finalists for its 2010 Entrepreneur Of The Year awards in San Diego.
The group includes: Paul Buss, chief executive officer of Skinit; Allan Camaisa, CEO of Anakam; Brad Chisum, CEO of Lumedyne Technologies; Robert Christie, CEO and president of 3E Co.; Larry Gilbert, president and CEO of Event Network; Maureen Gray, CEO of KBM Facilities Solutions; David Hartman, president and CEO of Easy-Turf; Marcus Hompesch, president and CEO of Profil Institute for Clinical Research; Scott Huennekens, president and CEO of Volcano Corp.; Jason Levin, president of Dos Gringos; Jonathan Lim, president and CEO of Halozyme (Nasdaq: HALO); Russ Mann, CEO of Covario; Tim Penick, president of T.B. Penick & Sons; Kishore Seendripu, CEO of MaxLinear (NYSE: MXL); and Lale White, CEO and chairman of XIFIN.
The finalists were chosen by an independent judging panel comprising regional business, academic and community leaders. The winners will be revealed at a gala event on June 9 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.
"Entrepreneurship is especially vital as our nation recovers from recession," said Dan Kleeburg, Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year program director for San Diego. "These finalists create jobs in our area, encouraging healthy growth, development and innovation in the local economy."
The Entrepreneur Of The Year program honors entrepreneurs regionally in June, leading up to the national awards in November. Additionally, venture-backed companies that win an Entrepreneur Of The Year award regionally are also eligible for the Venture Capital Award of Excellence on a national level. The overall national US winner then moves on to compete for the World Entrepreneur Of The Year title in June.
