The executive director of San Diego State University's Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Alex DeNoble, has been chosen to serve as president-elect for the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the university announced Thursday.
DeNoble has taught entrepreneurship management in the SDSU College of Business Administration for the past 30 years. He will serve as the president-elect for the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship starting in January 2014. The year-long role will groom him to take on the responsibilities of the organization's presidency starting in January 2015.
Founded in 1981, USASBE bills itself as the largest independent professional academic organization dedicated to advancing the discipline of entrepreneurship.
"Alex has built an international reputation as one of the top thinkers and leaders in the fields of entrepreneurship education and research," said Dr. Pat Dickson, current USASBE president and associate dean for undergraduate programs for the Schools of Business at Wake Forest University. "The world-class programs he has helped build while at SDSU are evidence of his vision and leadership."
