Aug. 4: Atlassian User Group in collaboration with the Temecula Valley Software Developers Meetup, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Interesting demos, discussions about how we can use the Atlassian suite of products and some insights on cool plugins from other companies. Aug. 7: TriTech Become a Private Money Superhero!, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Join us as Jillian Sidoti, a local securities attorney (and more) shares how you can supercharge your private money-raising by changing your perspective and learn about the cast of characters in the world of private money. Aug. 8: TVCC Professional Development Series: Google Drives and Google Docs. 9-11 a.m. Presented by Google Certified Trainer Josh Kitzerow, you will be introduced to Google Drive, a cloud-based storage solution with the ability to create, edit and share documents from directly online. Learn how to create new documents, comment on them and share them with colleagues or clients without the issue of utilizing the wrong version of this document. Aug. 13: Pitch Practice. 11:30-1:00pm.This event is a networking event for tech startups/entrepreneurs and includes a Pitch Practice at noon. Aug. 14: IESBDC: Entity Selection, 9-11 a.m.The process of incorporating your business can be a difficult one; what forms do you need, what processes will your new company need to follow to comply? We will discuss forming a corporation, the various forms of organizations, selecting the type of organization for you, as well as answer attendee questions. Aug. 20: Midweek Marketing Series: Targeting Your Market, 9-11 a.m. Having a well-defined target market is more important than ever. Targeting a specific market does not mean that you have to exclude people that do not fit your criteria from buying from you. Rather, target marketing allows you to focus your marketing dollars and brand message on a specific market that is more likely to buy from you than other markets. This is a much more affordable, efficient, and effective way to reach potential clients and generate business. Aug. 28: SCORE Workshop: Understanding Your Financials. 9-11 a.m. Financial statements are the “report cards” for your business. In order to manage your business successfully, the ability to interpret the data and understand their meaning is imperative to making your endeavor a success. This workshop will help you understand the terms used in financial reporting, how to classify the data correctly, and then how to use the information to maintain or grow your business. This workshop will cover basic accounting terms, interaction between the Income Statement and the Balance Sheet, importance of accuracy and how to maximize effectiveness.
