Commercial space planning firm changes name to RBNDesign with addition of new partner

Roberts Bennett Norton, also to be known as RBNDesign, formerly Roberts & Bennett, is a local commercial interior design firm established in 1980. Jennifer Roberts and Tina Bennett acquired the company in 1999 and on Jan. 1, Tara Norton became the third partner and principal forming Roberts Bennett Norton.

Norton has been with the firm since 1996.

“Tara has always been an essential part of our success,” said Bennett. “Her dedication not only to the firm, but to all of her clients throughout the years, has earned her an exceptional reputation and solid position in our organization. We are very excited to have her as part of our executive team.”

Roberts Bennett Norton is a full-service commercial interior design and space planning firm with extensive experience in corporate, industrial, retail and healthcare interiors. The firm’s foremost mission is to provide an environment that is not only functional and aesthetically pleasing, but also meets the time and budgetary requirements of the project.

RBNDesign completes on average 1 million square feet annually. Clientele includes Arden Realty, Equity Office Properties, and a wide variety of corporate clients such as Chicken of the Sea, Pacific Coast Steel and Alliant Insurance. Healthcare clientele include North County Health Service, FacesPlus and many dental and medical offices throughout Southern California. Retail spaces include Pure Barre and Gila Rut.

A strong work ethic and dedication to clients are essential to Roberts Bennett Norton.

“We believe it is a testament to our firm that we have remained strong and resilient despite a fluctuating economy. These last few years have been a true test and we passed,” said Roberts.

The company has been integral to Norton’s professional development, and has encompassed every aspect of her career during the past 14 years, according to the new partner.

“It is a great privilege to continue on with Tina and Jennifer in the capacity of partner and principal within the firm,” Norton said. “I am enthusiastic about my new role of business ownership and the future success of RBNDesign.”

Roberts, Bennett and Norton are all alumni of San Diego State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in interior design.
