Blessing of the Waves returns to Huntington Beach

The Fourth Annual Blessing of the Waves brings together those who respect our natural ocean resource and all peoples of faith. Come make your spiritual connection with others who cherish the ocean and are concerned for its health.

WHO: Join faith leaders and ocean-minded people in a joyful celebration of our water, planet and its spiritual gifts. Bring an aloha spirit and sing, pray, celebrate with those who find spiritual refuge and take inspiration from the sea, regardless of faith community, personal beliefs or recreational preference -- sailors, surfers, fishermen, beach goers, stand-up paddlers and all others are welcome to participate in this first of its kind event.

WHERE: Northside of the iconic Huntington Beach Pier.

WHEN: October 2, 2011 - 9 to 11 a.m.

HOW: A morning celebration of prayer, song and spirituality led by Fr. Christian Mondor and faith leaders from many regional interfaith communities. The program will include performances by Pacific Islander choirs accompanied by an acclaimed ukelele orchestra; non-denominational prayer service; Blessing of the Waves Ceremony and paddle-out (surf conditions permitting).

Come one, come all. Come to the Ocean -- Join us as we bless the waves and seek blessings for ourselves and each other.
