New St. Bart's series looks at changing face of Christianity

St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church begins a new series in January, "Embracing Emergence Christianity," for its Adult Formation Study Group.

Phyllis Tickle invites people to join her in examining the changing face of Christianity and culture. In this small group Adult Formation Study, St. Barts will survey 2000 years of Western history, identifying the great upheavals that occur in Western culture and Christianity every 500 years. Class dates are Jan. 4, 11, 25 and Feb. 1, 8, 15. The Rev. Bill Zettinger will be the facilitator.

Phyllis Tickle is founding editor of the religion department of Publishers Weekly and is frequently quoted in many of today’s most popular print and electronic media. She is an authority on religion in America, an Episcopalian and has spoken at Diocesan and National Church events many times. She is the author of two dozen books on religion and spirituality.

Classes are 10:30 a.m. with lunch and handouts, or 7 p.m. with beverages, snacks and handouts. The morning sessions are $25 for three weeks or evening $5 for three weeks
