St. Bartholomew's concert series presents Mozart's Requiem

Related Special Reports

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will be presenting Mozart's Requiem on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. in the church.

The entire Requiem will be performed with a full orchestra, soloists and choir. It was composed in 1791 and left unfinished because of Mozart's untimely death. Franz Xavier Sussmayr, a student of Mozart's, finished the work.

This performance will usher in the season of Lent, which begins the following week on Ash Wednesday. Dr. William J. Eichorn, minister of Music and the Arts, will conduct the Requiem which is one of the world's greatest masterpieces. The soloists are local artists Diana Villwock, soprano; Evangelina Woo, mezzo-soprano; Sean McCormac, tenor and Tim McLellan, bass.

This concert is a part of the church's ongoing Concert Series, which is celebrating its seventh year. Tickets ($10 donation) are available online at www.stbartschurch/signup or call the church office at 858-487-2159 or at the door.
