Rock Church hosts job fair

Related Special Reports

The Rock Church is calling all job seekers to attend a job fair on Monday, April 16, from 6-9 p.m.

The fair is an opportunity for job seekers to connect with employers from a variety of industries, receive individual resume critiques from professionals and get advice from career counselors.

The event was created by the Work Ministry to help the people of San Diego who have been laid off or are otherwise looking for a new job. For those unable to afford professional attire, Rock Thrift Store will be providing a free boutique at 5 p.m. (right before the event) for attendees to receive clothing and fittings at no cost to them.

"It's vital to empower others to use their God-given spiritual gifts and talents by serving others through their work," said Paige Cohen, ministry leader of the Work Ministry. "We've got to go beyond the four walls of the Church and serve others looking for jobs. "

Attendees are asked to bring several copies of their resumes and dress professionally. Resume and interview coaches will be available on-site.
