St. Bart's presents Misa Criolla

Related Special Reports

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will present Ariel Ramirez's Misa Criolla (Creole Mass), sung by the Coventry Choir and soloists, on Sunday, May 20 at the 9:30 a.m. service.

This mass is in the South American folk tradition with guitar, harpsichord, and multiple percussion instruments. It is based on folk genres with Andean influences and instruments.

San Diego musicians tenor Sean McCormac is singing in the creole Spanish dialect of the Andes Mountains; the Latin-American guitarist Nathan Arriola is providing authentic accompaniment; and Mattias Villwock will be leading all the percussionists in the very rhythmical music. All are welcome.

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church is located on 16275 Pomerado Road in Poway.
