St. Bart's study looks at Christianity and Islam

Related Special Reports

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church is hosting a five-week study facilitated by the Rev. Bill Zettinger aimed at helping people understand the primary similarities and differences between Christianity and Islam in the hope that a greater understanding will foster tolerance at a time when our secular world seems to be pushing us more and more toward hostility.

We will study aspects of Jesus and Mohammed -- the early years of their ministry; the conflicts; apostles and caliphs; schisms and denominations; the Bible and the Quran; the pillars of faith; primary theological beliefs and differences; culture and the role of women; violence and warfare; and most importantly the future.

The series kicks off Wednesday, May 30 and continues on June 6, 13, 20 and 27. The 10:30 a.m. session includes lunch and the cost is $40 all five weeks, including study guide. The 7 p.m. session is $10 all five weeks and includes the study guide.

St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church is located on 16275 Pomerado Road in Poway.
