Foothills United Methodist Church offering grief and loss support classes

Related Special Reports

Foothills United Methodist Church is hosting two "grief and loss" support classes over the summer.

The first class in its support series assists those who may be facing divorce or separation. Learn tips to deal with the disappointments, decisions and discoveries that come along with these changes. The class incorporates faith and prayer with ways to deal with this loss. The class meets for three weeks every Monday (July 16, 23 and 30) at 6:30 p.m.

The second class is for people who have experienced the loss of a job, loss of health, loss of the family unit, etc. Anything that has "taken you by surprise" in your normal routine or comfort zone or quality of life can be experienced as a "loss." Come expecting to gain some new insights and tools to help identify some "anchor points" and coping skills. This three-week, faith-oriented class is on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Aug. 6, 13 and 20.

Both classes take place at Foothills United Methodist Church in the Pastor's office, 4031 Avocado Blvd. in La Mesa. Call 619-670-4009 to reserve a spot in either class or for more information.

More information on both classes or our church can be found at www.foothillsumc.org/what-we-do/prayer/living-through-loss.
