Blessing of the Animals at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Oct. 6

Related Special Reports

This time of year, many Christians honor St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, by blessing the companion animals that share our lives. St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Rancho Peñasquitos invites all in the community to a blessing of the animals at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6.

This event is free to the public and all friendly animal companions are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) was the founder of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor. Francis was so at peace with God that legend says that wild animals did not fear him and would come around him when he would walk outside.

We love our pets, and they are a gift out of God's creation. By having them blessed, we acknowledge the grace that God gives us through his creatures.

St. Timothy's Episcopal Church is located on 10125 Azuaga St. For more information and directions, visit: www.st-tims-church.org.
