St. Bartholomew's music academy hosts fundraiser

Related Special Reports

St. Bartholomew's Academy of Music and the Arts has been making music available to the neighborhoods surrounding Rancho Bernardo and Poway for 13 years.

Presently we have lessons in piano (Diana Villwock), guitar (Jan Bugaiski) and cello (Stephanie Stout). The teachers of the Academy, as well as the church's Coventry choir section leaders (Sean McCormac, Tim McLellan, Evangelina Woo, Diana Villwock), will be performing to help raise additional funds so that the Academy can continue well into the future to provide musical instruction to all who have a desire to learn. The benefit concert will be held Sunday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the church, located on 16275 Pomerado Road in Poway.

The program will also be assisted by the Minister of Music, Dr. William J. Eichorn and organist, Janie Prim. There will be collaboration among each of the musicians (duets, trios, quartets and full ensemble pieces) as well as individual performances. Music will include Vaughan Williams, Debussy, Bach, Sondheim, Brahms and many more. This will be a lively and very entertaining event to showcase the various and highly gifted talents of these musicians.

Tickets (donation of $15) are available in advance at the church office or at the door of the church the day of the concert. For more information, call 858-487-2159.
