"An Evening of Vivaldi," St. Bartholomew's second Concert Series event, takes place on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
Programed will be the famous Gloria for orchestra, soloists, choir and harpsichord under the direction of Dr. William Eichorn, Minister of Music and the Arts. The piece, having been lost since the 18th century, was rediscovered in 1939 and has become one of the most popular choral pieces of our time.
St. Bartholomew's Coventry Choir with Diana Villwock and Evangelina Woo, soloists will be accompanied by St. Bartholomew's Camerata Strings along with trumpet and oboe.
The second half of the concert is dedicated to the ever popular Four Seasons, a violin concerto depicting scenes appropriate to each of the seasons. The visiting group, Sorrento Camerata, who are some of San Diego's best string players, will play this very well-known concerto.
Tickets, a $10 donation, will be available in the church office, on the patio before and after weekend services during the weeks leading up to Dec. 8 and at the door the day of the concert.
