Rev. Brent Ross has been appointed to lead the congregation at the Normal Heights United Methodist Church located at 4650 Mansfield St. Along with Pastor Ross' appointment comes the Sacred Ordinary congregation who will blend their service with the current congregation to meet every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
"I am thrilled to be in Normal Heights and to keep working on ways that we as a church can be a part of this incredible neighborhood," said Rev. Ross. "I see it as integral to our faith to be a partner and advocate for the well-being of this neighborhood. Together as neighbors, residents, business owners, educators and churches we point the way to a hopeful future."
Pastor Ross previously served as associate pastor at the San Carlos United Methodist Church, where he created a dynamic and forward-thinking service called Sacred Ordinary where he was able to blend his interest and passion in new styles of worship and community formation. At only 39-years-old, Normal Height United Methodist Church will be Pastor Ross' third appointment, including his initial appointment in Chicago, Ill.
A native of Florida, Pastor Ross has a master's of theological studies from Vanderbilt University and an M Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. He is also very involved with the Southern California Methodist District Planning and Strategy Committee and the Episcopacy Committee.
