The San Diego Maritime Museum is seeking volunteers with an interest in learning and talking about worldwide maritime history with a special focus on the 16th through 21st centuries represented by the vessels and artifacts in the Maritime Museum’s collection.
Docents will engage with museum visitors, field visitors' questions and share knowledge. Training is carried out in a series of lectures, suggested readings and walking tours.
To obtain more information about the Docent Training Program contact Docent/Volunteer Coordinator Jeff Loman at 619-234-9153 Ext. 135 or firstname.lastname@example.org. If unable to attend the Tuesday morning training classes ask about the mentorship program whereby you work one-on-one with an experienced docent to build the necessary skill-set. Membership in the Maritime Museum is required.
