Sharp HospiceCare announces plans for South Bay's first hospice home

Related Special Reports

Sharp HospiceCare will announce plans for its first South Bay hospice home at a site dedication event from noon to 1 p.m. on March 20.

Located on a tranquil, 1.1-acre residential property in Bonita, the future hospice home will be Sharp HospiceCare's third -- and largest -- residential location.

Plans for the 6,000-square-foot home will feature a modern hacienda design and six private patient rooms with private patios.

The event, which will take place at the Sweetwater Woman's Club in Bonita, will include a presentation of architectural renderings and a site blessing. Scott McMillin, chairman of the board of The Corky McMillin Companies, fundraising chair for Sharp HospiceCare's campaign, and major contributor toward the effort, is also scheduled to speak.

Sharp's hospice homes are the only places of their kind in San Diego County, custom designed and built in established, residential neighborhoods for patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Sharp HospiceCare is the largest hospice provider in the County and currently operates two homes in La Mesa and Del Cerro neighborhoods. Learn more here: www.sharp.com/video/transcripts/homes-for-hospice.cfm.
