San Diego-based and family-owned Cohn Restaurant Group recently announced the opening of 333 Pacific Steak & Seafood restaurant in Oceanside. This recent addition to the Cohn family is the group's 13th restaurant, which offers innovative cuisine, casual elegance and oceanfront dining to Oceanside.
"We are excited to introduce 333 Pacific in Oceanside, a community that has been extremely supportive of our arrival," said David Cohn, president of CRG. "This is the first time we have opened a restaurant in North County and we are confident that the team assembled, led by general manager Deborah Lamoureux and executive chef Randy Miller, will help to make it a true gathering place where the community can relax, enjoy dinner, drinks and conversation in an oceanfront setting."
Located on the corner of Pacific Street and Pier View Way, 333 Pacific occupies 7,000 square feet on the ground floor of the Wyndham Oceanside Resort, but features a separate entrance from the hotel. The open floor plan of the interior showcases 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean and Oceanside Pier and seats 250 guests, which includes space in the dining room, two private dining rooms, the lounge and the outdoor covered patio.
Their menu features signature steaks, chops and a variety of seafood specialties that showcase the worldly travels, Californian roots and contemporary flavor palate of executive chef Randy Miller.
Originally from San Luis Obispo, chef Miller studied at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Paris where he achieved his certification in cuisine and ranked first in his class while studying under Yahn Barahud, and received Le Grand Diplome in pastry at Le Cordon Bleu London.
Chef Miller joins 333 Pacific and the CRG family from several highly acclaimed restaurants, including L'ambrosie in Paris, voted the 22nd Best Restaurant in the world by Restaurant Magazine, Mirabelle in London and the Zagat rated Edna Valley Bistro and Blue Restaurant. Chef Miller's latest position at Platinum Equity and Paradigm Records as a personal chef earned him the opportunity to cater to many celebrities and politicians including John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Fergie, and the cast of Desperate Housewives.
Another feature of 333 Pacific includes North County's only Vodka Bar, staffed with "Cocktail Chefs." Guests can choose from a selection of 13 signature martinis, created with their choice of more than 100 different vodkas.
On Friday, Jan. 30, Decanter Restaurant & Wine Lounge will be opening its doors to the public. Located in Rancho Santa Fe's new Cielo Village, Decanter will showcase new American cuisine, over 200 different wines by the glass and nearly 4,500 wines available by the bottle, from around the globe.
The venue's proprietor, Jayson Knack, is a certified sommelier and seasoned wine expert with more than 10 years of experience managing upscale and fine dining establishments. Overseeing operations for notable restaurants including Viognier Restaurant in San Mateo, Lapis Restaurant in San Francisco, 910 Restaurant in La Jolla, and The Wine Lover in San Diego, time and experience have provided Jayson with a superior knowledge of fine wine and cuisine.
Additionally, Knack has worked with some of the best in the culinary world, including the James Beard Foundation award-winning Chef Gary Danok and renowned Chef Rolland Passo.
"I have felt that both Rancho Santa Fe and North County have been long overdue for a new upscale and contemporary restaurant that provides a tranquil atmosphere, great wine and most importantly great cuisine," said Knack.
