Ladeki expands staff with Augarten

The Ladeki Restaurant Group has added Mark Augarten to its executive team as vice president of operations.

With more than 20 years of experience in restaurant management and business operation coordination, Augarten will oversee regional management teams as well as institute "cutting-edge" programs. He will also be responsible for strategic operational leadership and staff development for all of Sammy's Woodfired Pizza locations throughout Southern California and Nevada.

Ladeki Restaurant Group includes Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar and Mosaic Catering.

For one night only -- Monday, June 6 -- nine North Park restaurants are offering $5 signature dish specials. The North Park Grub Sprawl includes El Take it Easy; Eddie's Philadelphia; West Coast Tavern; True North Tavern; Splash; The Linkery; Sea Rocket Bistro, Rosaria Pizza and Ranchos Cocina.

Just show up to a participating restaurant wearing the special wristband during the event hours to be eligible for the $5 dishes. Free wristbands are available at both True North Tavern & West Coast Tavern.

After 23 years on Fourth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, and following an eight-month, $2.7 million construction project, Café Sevilla is officially reopening with a celebration on June 15 from 7-10 p.m. at 353 Fifth Ave. The party will be a fundraiser for the San Diego nonprofit organization, It's All About the Kids.

"Everything about the new location is designed to better serve the guest and enhance their dining and entertainment experience in every way," said CEO Eric Van Den Haute. "Every detail has been carefully thought out, from access and comfort to style and efficiency. We can't wait to welcome back our family of regulars as well as make many new friends in this vibrant part of the Gaslamp Quarter."

Tickets are $25 per person and will be pre-sold via the Internet on the nonprofit's website. Price includes sangria, wine tasting, tapas and paella.

The Pearl Hotel has teamed up with Urbanist to once again host their annual Vintage Prom, a fundraiser to benefit local charities through the Community Gives foundation.

Deals include the "Room & Prom Ticket" package, "Wine & Dine" package, including 3-course dinner and prom ticket as well as the "Cheap Date" package which includes prom tickets only.

Bite San Diego, a downtown walking food tour company has seen so much success with its Gaslamp/Little Italy tour, that they have decided to launch a second tour in Coronado. The launch date for the new tour is scheduled for June 11.

The tour will stop at Il Fornaio, Peohe's, Alexander's Pizza, Chance Bistro, Fuzziwig's Candy Factory, and Moo Time. Each restaurant will offer a taste of a signature dish and/or beverage, and guests will be treated to an overview of the establishment's highlights and cuisine.
