San Diego native Kaitlin Ramos has stepped up as the new executive chef at St. Germain's Café & Bistro in Encinitas. Ramos will oversee the restaurant’s breakfast, lunch and recently launched dinner service, as well as unveiling a new menu.
Previously working at Wolfgang Puck's Spring Café in Las Vegas for two and a half years, Ramos held several positions there and within the restaurant’s catering program. Shortly after she relocated back to San Diego and worked as Chef Dan Moody’s line cook at Relate Restaurant, a pop-up restaurant, which was hosted at St. Germain’s.

The San Diego Opera has announced a partnership with KPBS Radio that will enable the company to air all opening night San Diego Opera performances for the 2012 season live, beginning with Strauss's Salome AT 7 P.M., Saturday, Jan. 28.
The Opera's Director of Education and Outreach, Dr. Nicolas Reveles, will host “San Diego Opera Live” supplementing the performance intermissions with historical facts, anecdotes and artist interviews.

Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa recently announced Simon Chen as general manager, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of resort staff, operations and guest accommodations in addition to overseeing the resort's recently announced approximately $20 million renovation project, which will take six month, starting in January.
Barona Resort & Casino has hired Bruce Lowder as vice president of finance.
Lowder will oversee financial operations for the casino including assisting in developing Barona's financial management strategy and providing leadership for diverse work groups.
