Campaigns gear up for election night

Related Special Reports

San Diego’s political pundits will once again take in election results at Golden Hall Tuesday night, while the four mayoral candidates have set up election night parties of their own around downtown.

The campaigns of both Councilman Carl DeMaio and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher are spending the night at the US Grant, with DeMaio in the Palm Court and Fletcher at the Presidential Ballroom. Rep. Bob Filner will begin the night at Stout’s Public House with the San Diego County Democratic Party before walking over to Golden Hall as the results roll in.

District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis will be at the Ambassador Room of the Westgate Hotel.

Dumanis, DeMaio and Fletcher didn’t commit to coming to Golden Hall.

A spokesperson for the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, which reports the election results at Golden Hall each year, said it’s possible the election night location will be different in 2014, but said there have been no formal discussions to change venues.
