Networking is a powerful business tool. But making contacts and nurturing professional relationships can be time-consuming. Not many business owners and executives can devote the time they’d like to this critically important effort.
ABC San Diego partnered with the Building Industry Association of San Diego this spring to give members of both organizations a first of its kind opportunity to network with key representatives from nearly 30 prominent builders and general contractors in just one evening, at the first ever jointly sponsored Meet The Builders and Generals event.
More than 350 contractors and industry professionals filled the newly remodeled ballroom of the Hilton Mission Bay for a partnership event that energized the room. Some members attended just to shake hands with people from companies they already do business with and others came to seek out new opportunities.

"There are a lot of networking events that take place, but very few that packed the punch of this one," said ABC member Alex Galicia of BPI Plumbing, Inc.
Wal-Mart was a featured company, sharing renderings of new construction taking place in the region. ABC general contractors showcased included C.W. Driver, Gilbane Building Co., Hensel Phelps, Ledcor Construction, Lusardi Construction, Stronghold Engineering, Inc., Turner Construction, I.E.- Pacific, Inc., and Nova Group/Underground Construction.
Residential builders from the Building Industry Association (BIA) were also part of the event giving ABC members a unique opportunity to ask questions, explore opportunities and expand their businesses.
