Local nominees announced for TOBY Awards

The San Diego Building Owners and Managers Association recently announced the nominees for the local level of “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) awards. The TOBY Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive of their kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in office buildings and rewarding excellence in office building management. The winners will be announced at BOMA’s annual Winter Gala set for Nov. 9 at La Costa Resort & Spa.

“I’d like to congratulate all the local buildings that have been nominated by their industry peers for this award” said BOMA San Diego President Mike Hansen of CBRE. “These properties represent the crème de la crème of commercial properties in San Diego.”

The 2012 TOBY Nominees:

· Liberty Station Building 902 is nominated in the 100,000-249,000 square feet category. Liberty Station Building 902 is owned by Kilroy Realty Corporation and managed by Sherry Bongioanni and Michael Nelson of Kilroy Realty Corporation.

· Rio San Diego Plaza I is nominated in the 100,000-249,000 square feet category. Rio San Diego Plaza I is owned by A-Rio San Diego, LLC and managed by David Simmons of RiverRock Real Estate Group, Inc.

· Rio Vista Tower is nominated in the 100,000-249,000 square feet category. Rio Vista Tower is owned by Hyundai Rio Vista, Inc. and managed by Marianne Connelly and Kathy Sullivan of CBRE, Inc.

· 101 West Broadway is nominated in the 250,000-499,999 square feet category. 101 West Broadway is owned by 101 West Broadway LLC and managed by Traci Pietras of Irvine Company Office Properties.

· The Plaza is nominated in the 500,000-999,999 square feet category. The Plaza is owned by Irvine Company Office Properties and managed by Cindy Devlin of Irvine Company Office Properties.

· Sorrento Towers North is nominated in the Renovated Building category. Sorrento Towers North is owned by Blackstone/Equity Office and managed by Jenalyn Rogers of Equity Office.

· Kilroy Centre Del Mar is nominated in the Suburban Low Rise (1-5 Stories) category. Kilroy Centre Del Mar is owned by Kilroy Realty Corporation and managed by Bernadette Blanco of Kilroy Realty Corporation.

· Sorrento South Corporate Center is nominated in the Suburban Mid Rise (6-10 Stories) category. Sorrento South Corporate Center is owned by Blackstone/Equity Office and managed by Jenalyn Rogers of Equity Office.

· Cabrillo Technology Center is nominated in the Earth Award category. Cabrillo Technology Center is owned by Cabrillo Properties, LLC and managed by Kathy Sullivan of CBRE, Inc.

· La Jolla Centre I is nominated in the Earth Award category. La Jolla Centre I is owned by Irvine Company Office Properties and managed by Jill Saul-Sims of Irvine Company Office Properties.

· Sycamore Vista Business Park is nominated in the Industrial Office Park category. Sycamore Vista Business Park is owned by Knickerbocker Properties, Inc. XII and managed by Kathy Sullivan of CBRE, Inc.
