More than 30 entrepreneurs from across San Diego participated in a training event designed to help them grow their small businesses.
The event, called "La Idea en Accion", featured a panel of business advising experts, who shared their knowledge in topics such as credit, finance, business management, international trade, and more.
This local event, hosted and coordinated by Accion San Diego and Univision, is part of a larger initiative called "La Idea", launched in 2011 by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The initiative was developed through a public-private partnership that includes the U.S. State Department, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Inter-American Development Bank, Boom Financial, International Diaspora Engagement Alliance, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Small Business Administration, Univision Networks, Accion, Wellspace, and FHI 360, as a way to support collaboration between entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Latin America, with the goal of encouraging job creation and economic growth.
La Idea connects Latino entrepreneurs to local and regional small business support centers and provides them with resources and connections to help them take their business to the next level.
International Trade Specialist, Gustavo Guerrero, presented information on services available through the San Diego CITD to help small business owners grow their business internationally.
