The annual Mexicali Supply Expo (MSE) was held on Thursday, Feb. 27 in the city of Mexicali, Baja California. The industrial trade show's mission is to serve as a business platform for local manufacturing companies and their potential suppliers.
The day-long event had 3,200 attendees, 140 exhibitors, of which 126 were industrial suppliers, and 14 were local manufacturers. Companies like Newell Rubbermaid, Honeywell, Gulfstream and Kenworth had exhibits that showcased the parts they make and were staffed by purchasing representatives of the company.
MSE 2014 offered Business-to-Business meetings (at an additional fee) and conferences (free of cost) to attendees and exhibitors. One of the conferences was a panel of specialists on how to effectively and successfully quote large manufacturers. The panel consisted of purchasing managers at Kenworth, Newell Rubbermaid, Gulfstream, Robert Bosch Power Tools and Skyworks Solutions.
Monica Rosas, CITD Business Specialist, provided counseling to several Mexican companies who wish to buy from California suppliers. Some of the U.S. Companies that participated were: Jenson Fasteners, EWD Solutions, Inc., and Main Steel Polishing, among others.
