San Diego Market President
Chase

Jim Wening is the market president in San Diego for Chase, and the market leadership team chairman for Orange County, Inland Empire and San Diego. This internal leadership team coordinates and manages the bank’s extensive presence in this part of Southern California. In San Diego, Wening leads a team of senior bankers, credit underwriters and service professionals that provide comprehensive financial solutions to commercial banking clients. Community involvement is another important aspect to Wening’s role, and he actively serves on the board of directors at the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Economic Development Corporation, Century Club Children’s Charities and The Old Globe.

With more than 17 years of industry experience and perspective, Wening is proud to deliver the combination of Chase’s fortress balance sheet and industry-specific thought leadership capabilities to support our clients during challenging economic times. Chase is also doing its part to invest in the community. One unique and powerful example is the Global Cities Initiative: A Joint Project of Brookings and JPMorgan Chase.

Following a $10 million grant from JPMorgan Chase to underwrite this program, leaders from the 100 largest U.S. metropolitan areas are receiving in-depth research, analysis and guidance on what their economic development resources are, how best to leverage these resources and how to build economic relationships with their international peers and operate in today’s global environment. San Diego was an initial launch point, and as a result, The Brookings Institution has selected San Diego as part of the first cohort of seven metropolitan areas to participate in the prestigious Brookings Metropolitan Export Exchange.

Wening is confident that the economy in San Diego will continue to grow in a positive direction, and is proud to participate in support of this community’s success.
