Holly Smithson, the former president of CleanTech San Diego, is the new director of enterprise practice at Sentek Global Inc., the information technology firm announced this week.
As head of CleanTech San Diego for nearly six years, Smithson directed the nonprofit advocacy organization to stimulate the creation and expansion of a clean technology business cluster in the San Diego region. Sentek said she will assume the role of growing and managing the company’s commercial cybersecurity division.
Sentek' s services, aimed at commercial and government clients, range from IT security assessments, design and implementation to military command and control system engineering.
Smithson said that at Sentek, she would "spearhead efforts to ensure corporate America is well protected from nefarious attacks now and well into the future.”
In 2012, Smithson completed the Harvard Business School’s Graduate of Leadership for Senior Executives program.
Eric Basu, founder and CEO of Sentek Global, said Smithson understands "better than almost anyone" the security threats facing microgrids and supporting technologies for clean energy, which he added is a key focus area for Sentek.
