EdgeWave, a San Diego-based cybersecurity firm, reports it has closed $6 million in Series A equity funding from TVC Capital, a San Diego-based growth equity firm.
According to a release, the financing will be used to support accelerating demand for EdgeWave's military-grade enterprise security capabilities protecting companies from advanced targeted hacker attacks. EdgeWave's EPIC2 (Enhanced Precision and Integrated Cyber Capability) is used to thwart "zero-minute" threats and ensure security policy compliance through a combination of cloud-enabled technology and national-defense level cybersecurity and human intelligence operations.
TVC Capital focuses its investments and acquisitions on software companies and software-enabled service firms.
EdgeWave's security platform is led by retired U.S. Navy Capt. Mike Walls, who most recently commanded the Navy's global cybersecurity operations.
