American Internet Services launches life sciences platform

Related Special Reports

American Internet Services unveiled a new life sciences software platform that supports research tools used by biotech, genomics sequencing and pharmaceutical scientists.

San Diego-based AIS, a provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud, and connectivity services, calls the Software as a Service (SaaS) ClearCompute.

The platform leverages AIS’ high-speed network connectivity and close geographic proximity to the life sciences community in the Southwestern region.

The service aims to give researchers easy access to on-demand compute and storage resources where they can run popular applications in a secure, scalable and high-performance environment.

Cirrhus9, a technology and cloud computing system integrator, worked with AIS to develop the AIS ClearCompute platform.

AIS has a private optical network that runs between multiple data centers in San Diego and Phoenix.

“The life sciences market is a strategic vertical for AIS, and we understand the critical importance of accelerating scientists’ development efforts through easy, affordable access to a growing bench of popular tools such as BLAST, Galaxy, and RNA-Seq," said Tim Caulfield, chief executive officer at AIS.
