Oct. 1: IESBDC - Government Contracts, 9-11 a.m., There are numerous opportunities for small businesses to sell to the government! This seminar will provide you with a simple overview of how to sell your products and services to the Federal, State and Local Government. Karla Gonzalez, Business Consultant with the Inland Empire SBDC will present this workshop and discuss Selling to the Federal Government, State & Local Contracting, Basic Contract Types, Small Business Resources, Solicitation Preparation, M/W/DVBE Certification and Effective Marketing Methods. Oct. 8: TVE2 Pitch Practice, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Calling all tech startup entrepreneurs. Come and practice your investor pitch in a fun and friendly environment. Networking and lunch at 11:30am. Pitches at noon. Entrepreneurs that pitch will receive feedback from a panel of experts. No cost to attend. Oct. 15: Midweek Marketing Series: Apps for Business Success, 9-11 a.m., Chances are, by now you have a smartphone and maybe a tablet, and you never leave home without one or both of them. These devices have transformed our daily lives. While much attention is given to the coolest apps that help you do your job better are arguably even more important. With that in mind, we've assembled a collection of apps that can help you Rock at work. This series will be led by Linda & Charles Musselwhite, the owners of Musselwhite Marketing. Oct. 17: TVCC Professional Development Series: Professional Growth and the Power of NO., 9-11 a.m., Presented by Kelly Orchard, this workshop offers insight into how your personal psychology affects every day business life and how "stinkin' thinkin'", past experiences, and personal projections affect the success of your career and business. This workshop challenges the participant how the word NO is not such a bad thing in both the sales approach and saying 'no' to overwhelming commitments. Oct. 21: Public Speaking, 9-10:30 a.m., Diane Strand from JDS Video & Media Productions / JDS Actors Studio will be presenting the art of public speaking. Attendees will learn skills that will improve confidence when addressing a group of people whether it be for a work presentation, a speech on something your passionate about, or when marketing your business.
