Tim McBride seems to be a busy person. He helps run Southern Contracting Electrical as the company’s president and CEO, and he is also involved with the National Electrical Contractors Association San Diego chapter in various ways.
At Southern Contracting Electrical, he helps guide the company through its core values: safety, quality and leadership.
Southern Contracting pursues work in the energy solutions market. This is largely due to a strategic decision made several years ago by McBride to diversify into more sustainable energy projects, according to Karen Prescott, assistant chapter manager with the NECA San Diego.
Southern Contracting has been a member of NECA since 1966, three years after the firm was founded by Richard McBride and George Bryant.
McBride joined NECA San Diego’s board of directors in 2005, and has served on the board as treasurer. He is currently the executive board president.
He also currently serves as a diplomat for the Foundation For Electrical Construction Inc. and is one of the judges for the national Green Energy Challenge student chapter competition, involving students from 27 universities.
He is also involved in the NECA student chapter at San Diego State University, where he provides financial and technical support to the program.
