BOMA San Diego promotes advocacy, education and networking in the commercial real estate industry, but also believes in giving back to the community. Since the beginning, community service has always been a priority among members.

“Dozens of BOMA volunteers donate not only items and money, but countless hours of coordination to local charities,” said BOMA San Diego President Mike Hansen of CBRE. “From our gift drive to our volunteer work parties, giving back is one of our main focuses throughout the year. It never fails to astound us what a wonderful group of caring and generous commercial real estate professionals we have here in San Diego.”

BOMA has chosen quite a few charities to partner with over the years, including: Promises2Kids, Polinksy’s Children Center, The Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, Dress for Success, The Boys & Girls Club, YWCA of San Diego County, North County Community Services and many more.

BOMA’s Community Service Committee has established partnerships with charities throughout San Diego County. BOMA has hosted countless backpack and clothing drives, annual gift drives, work parties and more.

Last year, BOMA held its annual “Give From Your Heart” Gift Drive, collecting more than 15,000 toys for Promises2Kids. Most recently, BOMA donated items to the YWCA of San Diego County featuring Becky’s House. BOMA members donated more than $3,000 worth of items.
