BOMA offers professionals a chance to further education in commercial real estate industry

Related Special Reports

Commercial real estate professionals look to BOMA as a leading source for industry education. BOMA San Diego offers a variety of education programs to fit the needs of building owners, mid- to senior-level management company executives, corporate facility managers and onsite personnel.

BOMA San Diego offers Foundations of Real Estate courses as well as Building Owners and Managers Institute International courses throughout the year.

Foundations of Real Estate Course:

The Foundations of Real Estate Course is a soup-to-nuts, five-module, 28-hour entry-level course, covering the fundamentals of commercial real estate administration, management, building systems, accounting and reporting, contract management and more.

“No matter how seasoned the student, the Foundations course has something new for everyone,” said Anna Orlando of Kilroy Realty Corporation. “I felt privileged for the opportunity to learn from the life lessons of each instructor. The property tours were invaluable. It is rare to get a personal tour of a property by the vice president of the company.”

Foundations reinforces on-the-job training for junior and assistant property managers, provides “feet on the ground” experience and exposure for administrative assistants and students considering a career in commercial real estate, offers a great refresher for experienced professionals (fills training gaps and provides important management and operations updates), and supports suppliers and building engineers who benefit from understanding the basics of real estate management.

Easing the training burden by supplementing on-the-job and corporate training programs, Foundations offers the highest caliber training, covering everything from A to Z. The course prepares new and rising talent for more property management responsibilities and assignments. Foundations teaches employees best practices from experienced, seasoned professionals, delivers a curriculum that is regularly updated, ensuring the latest, most accurate information, minimizes time out of the office with convenient scheduling over several days or weeks, and is offered locally through your local BOMA associations.

Courses are currently offered by BOMA local associations as classroom-based learning. Modules may be offered once a week for five weeks, or differently if deemed appropriate by the local association host and each BOMA local association determines the cost of the program. Registration can be done through the BOMA San Diego website.
