Dear Members and Guests,
ABA Foundation Scholarship Program
SDG&E and SEMPRA Energy have always been strong supporters of the ABA and the Asian and Pacific Islander community at large. SDG&E's commitment to ABA is demonstrated through their participation on the ABA Board of Directors, first by Jacqueline Nguyen and, now, by Penney McGuire. Penney is a key member of this year’s Annual Awards Dinner Committee, taking the lead on recruiting and training volunteers. Jacqueline served as chair for the 15th Annual Awards Dinner Committee. SDG&E joined ABA as a Diamond level ($10,000) member in 2004. We look forward to continuing this great partnership with SDG&E.
Dr. Alan Gin joined the ABA in 1996. He is currently a member of the ABA Advisory Board. For the past few years, Dr. Gin has contributed articles on the Economic Outlook for ABA’s Compass e-newsletter. His articles provide readers with up-to-date and insightful information on what, why and how the housing market, gas prices, employment/labor market and other factors affect San Diego’s economy.
Dr. Cheng is receiving the 2006 Community Service Award for her commitment and service to the Asian Pacific Islander community both locally and abroad, serving as a bridge between business and academia.
Dennis was selected to receive ABA’s Business Leadership Award because of his remarkable contributions to business and the community in San Diego.
Wendy wears many hats. She is the Community and Media Marketing Manager at 10News, and is also an actor, model, editor, and community leader. Wendy is a native of the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from U.C. San Diego with a degree in communications.
