    Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s new Heart and Vascular Center is about 30 percent complete and on schedule to open for patients in spring 2015, according to Sharp HealthCare officials. The three-story, 71,000-square-foot facility is part of Sharp Grossmont’s master site plan to expand and enhance the campus.

  • County's first desalination plant ahead of schedule

    Poseidon Water, which is developing in Carlsbad what will be the largest seawater desalination plant in the Western Hemisphere, is contracted to have the plant running by late November 2015. If the current pace of progress is maintained, the plant, expected to produce 50 million gallons of drinking water per day, could be operational up to three months ahead of time.

    Del Mar-based homebuilder Davidson Communities has been building quality homes in California for more than 35 years. In July, one of its most recent communities, Arterro at La Costa, was honored by Pacific Coast Builders Conference Gold Nugget Awards in two categories: Project of the Year for detached housing and Single Family Detached Home of the Year more than 4,000 square feet.
